The second of two 12-string guitars hired by singer/songwriter Kevin for a 3-day studio session in August. To complement the fully acoustic Yamaha FG-411-12, an absolutely classic 1989 Rickenbacker 330/12. For a Christmas single, you absolutely cannot do better than two 12-string guitars!

Thanks to Nathan for giving the Arctic White Strat some bank holiday sunshine with Full Tilt Collective at Shambala Festival and Twinwood Festival in August 2023. And, geek moment, a set-up with Custom Light strings for the first time - think it worked out fine!

Greg's on a mission to find the perfect overdrive. Last time it was the daddy of them all, the 1983 Ibanez Tube Screamer. This time, the boutique Crowther Audio Hot Cake, beloved by so many. Of course, I can't say which came out on top, but I know Greg loved them both!

By my count, Ollie has hired five different basses over the past year or so, each one targeted at a particular sound. This time round it was the 1969 Gibson EB-3 - the one with that famously deep and dark "mudbucker" at the bridge. Pure, unadulterated bass - Ollie loved it!

Great to be able to help Andy out at short notice for a band reunion. He chose the 1982 Fender Precision - maple board, ash body, all that classic 80s toppy tone - and loved it. Fingers crossed the band reunion develops into something bigger!

"A great amp in good nick. I used the normal and brilliant channels for recording purposes to good effect. Like the modern AC30s too but prefer this one overall! I added an extra day to get more recording done with it. Very pleased with the sound."
Thanks to Zani for bringing the full potential of this vintage Vox AC-30 Top Boost to his recording sessions. It had just come from a full service with Sweet Amps (check them out!) and sounded better than ever. A true British classic!

It was a really great time and I was not expecting so much sound from such a small guitar. Definitely a great choice to return to music. It was worth the hire and would highly recommend and choose it again."
It really doesn't have to be Ed Sheeran, but if you love his work, you really can't go wrong with the Little Martin. Big thanks to Alexandre for the extended hire as he returns to playing and writing his own material!

Over in London from Finland, Denisa needed an acoustic to keep up her practice schedule. The 1997 Yamaha LA-8 hit the mark perfectly - easy narrow neck, nice low set-up, and a tone that punches well above its weight. Thank you Denisa!

It gets hired surprisingly rarely, but whenever it does, it never fails. Thanks to return hirer Ollie from electronica duo Colour Telly, for giving the Eastman Airline a run for the band's latest work. It can do a lot more than Seven Nation Army covers ;-).

Thanks to Song Athletics owner Will Evans for hiring a couple of absolute classics for the sound library - and to international session/live guitarist Ross Chapman for playing them in the studio. The oldest guitar in the collection, the 1934 National Style O Resonator, and the king of flattops, the 1993 Gibson J-200. Which would you choose?

French guitarist Laurent (aka Agence Mess) was over in London to play at a private event in June. We talked about Les Pauls and Stratocasters, but when he saw the Graham Coxon Telecaster, that was it - everyone that plays it loves it. Rosewood board, humbucker & single-coil combination, plays like a dream. Fender really should have made more of these!
