Hirer Feedback
Don't take my word for it. This is what matters most!
"We've hired this bass on a few occasions to record on Rod Stewart sessions. It plays and sounds great."
An audience with the Knight for the President. A proper honour to have three vintage beauties on return hire for recording sessions with Sir Rod Stewart and band. Organised by Sir Rod's Front Of House Jonny Williams, this time at legendary Konk Studios in London. The gorgeous tones of the semi-acoustic 1964 Hofner President Bass, and the perfectly aged acoustic mojo of the 1965 Gibson J-45 and 1974 Martin D-28 all playing their part in Sir Rod's latest recordings. Looking forward to hearing the results!

"My personal favourite of Iain’s guitars. Super easy to play, great sustain, and it looks incredible! We have rented from Iain every time we’ve needed guitars in London, and we couldn’t be happier. Both the instruments and the service are always top‑notch."
Just great to have Tuomas, Joni and Silja from Finnish band Airi's back in London. This time for a proper bucket list moment - recording their next release at Abbey Road Studios! The band hired a trio of classics for the session: a 2002 Epiphone Union Jack Supernova, 1982 Fender Precision, and, Tuomas' personal favourite, the 1979 Black Strat. Looking forward to hearing the results when released!

"Iain’s service was incredible!!! We needed a great sounding guitar for a showcase at short notice and Iain was a dream to work with!!! Will definitely hire again!!"
Many thanks to Christine at YoYo Music Management for putting her faith in the lovely Millman Dreadnought for Australian singer/songwriter Jael Wena's showcase at Universal Music. It's a unique independent luthier-built guitar, and it shows. Crafted to play and sound great, and an honour to have it accompanying Jael!

"Extremely Good Bass amp! Clean sound and easy mixing board. Also a fantastic fellow!"
It's that Peavey MAX 115 again. The only bass amp I have, but always hits the spot. This time for Daniel, playing a New Year's Eve gig, so no pressure there . . . From everything Daniel said, sounds like the best of nights, and the amp did everything it should!

"Guitar was great to feel, super nice to play and in really good state. Iain was also really flexible with arranging the time and delivery of the guitar. Definitely recommend!"
Slovenian guitarist Jakob Vehovec Pondelak hired the utterly dependable 2006 Fender Stratocaster at short notice for rehearsals and recording sessions with producer Foong Ken Chee in London. Did the business!

"I hired the harmony for my dad’s 80th birthday as it was the first guitar he ever bought for himself as a teenager. It was in beautiful condition and he was so thrilled - really enjoyed it for a week. Iain made everything so easy and was lovely to deal with. I’ll be back!"
This really was a special hire. Karen's Dad has been playing guitar since the 60s. And, as he enters his 9th decade, he's still playing. He's got his own guitars, but no longer his first guitar, a Harmony semi-acoustic. So the 1964 Harmony Rocket H59 was the perfect surprise for his 80th birthday. Just an amazing trip down memory lane!

"Iain was great. He prepared everything and the guitar sounded amazing! It does feel like you have a completely brand new guitar and definitely completed our set :)"
Many thanks to Mabrouka from Maltese sibling duo Kayati, making their UK debut at Haggerston's Signature Brew Breaking Sound night in November. Stripped-down renditions of their songs, with the sisters in perfect harmony, accompanied by producer and songwriter Peter Borg. Peter has his own classic guitars in Malta, but, like many others, chose to hire the 2006 Gibson Hummingbird for the show rather than take on the expense and risk of bringing one of his own guitars. He loved it so much he even posted a picture of it himself!

"Amazing sounding amps and excellent support & service, we'll definitely be hiring again!!"
A pleasure to help Brixton's buzzing Effra Social for hiring a couple of amps for their inaugural Battle Of The Bands. Three heats and a final on consecutive weeks in November, with Greedy Karl taking the honours and a cheque for £1000 on the final night. All their own talent of course, with just a little help to them - and every band taking part - from the 2005 Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410 and 2010 Peavey MAX 115 :-).

"It was a pleasure playing this beautiful guitar. It has a nice full sound and is perfect for open tunings. But the best part was meeting and working with Iain. He's a true professional and kind person. I recommend everyone to trust Gods Own Guitars."
Many thanks to Italian bass guitarist Leonardo De Maio, hiring the 2016 Millman Dreadnought for band frontman Elia Lunardi, making their UK debut as part of the New Music night at legendary Half Moon in Putney in November. They will be back!

"Gods Own Guitars is the best. The owner Iain delivers A+ service. I will use them again, and again."
Very kind of Dexter, given we never managed to meet in person for handover and return! Still, a real pleasure to have helped him out with the Arctic White Stratocaster for company while visiting London from the States in November. Still the most popular hire, and still a very fine Mexican Strat indeed!

"I am in awe with this guitar, wow! Handover and return went perfectly smooth, Iain is a great guy! He always replied quickly to any questions and was perfectly on time. Thanks so much!"
Rounding off his mini-tour of the UK, a pleasure to meet German singer/songwriter Cedric Ohler, aka Fortcapulet, in London this November. His chosen companion the 2016 Millman Dreadnought, specially selected for both a promotional photoshoot and for an open mic session at legendary Dingwalls, in front of the Wall Of Fame. Loved the shoot, loved the night and loved the guitar. I've a strong feeling he will be back!

"This is the kind of guitar I always look longingly at when visiting guitar shops. It was great to be able to hire this one for a weekend at a very reasonable price and it was very enjoyable to play. Iain was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and it's clear that he looks after and cares about his guitars."
I think Gretsch knew exactly what they were doing, and exactly what longing they'd inspire, when they first came up with the White Falcon in 1955. It's been casting its spell ever since. On me. on so many others, and now on hirer Mike, with the 1990 Gretsch 7594 White Falcon. Absolutely magical!

"Absolutely loved using this guitar for a recent recording session. I really wanted that distinctive Ricky 12 string "chime" on a couple of the songs and this guitar was amazing. It was such a cool guitar to just have around in the studios for a couple of days too. Hey Iain, thanks so much for outstanding service, and all your care and support from start to finish. A real pleasure to work with God's Own Guitars - Thanks mate!"
This was a big one! Fulfilling a lifetime ambition to get in the studio and record 18 of his original songs, the very lovely Nige Mear hired the 1989 Rickenbacker 330/12 for initial rehearsals and for studio recording at Gizzard Recording Studio in October 2025. What a thing to do! Looking forward to hearing not just the two songs, but the full album!

"Iain was a legend to work with and the guitar sounded fantastic - highly recommend!"
Well, if there is any legend here, it's the guitar. That 1997 Yamaha LA-8, once again punching above its weight when it matters - at a wedding ceremony and reception! Many thanks to Sam for making it all happen!
