"I have always wanted to play a 12 String guitar. I saw the Gods Own Guitars website and I hired a Rickenbacker 330/12. I had never hired a guitar before, but Iain was very friendly, helpful and professional and explained the process. He kept in contact regularly to let me know what would happen and to confirm the date and time the guitar would be delivered and collected. It was always delivered and collected at the arranged time. The guitar was lovely and had a beautiful tone and sound, with the jangle which was great. I would recommend the experience for anyone and hope to hire a guitar again in the future. Thanks David."

Not just a gig, but the opening entertainment at a family wedding reception! For the third wedding on the same day, it was an honour to help out father and son duo Pat and David, over from the States to open up a gloriously celebratory wedding reception in North London. A pair of beautiful ES-335s - the 1977 Walnut TD for David and the 1988 Cherry Dot for Pat - and a pair of tube amps - the Champ 12 and Blues Junior. Many thanks to Pat for the kind words!

For the third wedding on the same day, it was an honour to help out father and son duo Pat and David, over from the States to open up a gloriously celebratory wedding reception in North London. A pair of beautiful ES-335s - the 1977 Walnut TD for David and the 1988 Cherry Dot for Pat - and a pair of tube amps - the Champ 12 and Blues Junior. Between them Pat and David covered a wide range of crowd-pleasers, all instrumentals, including a bold and magnificent version of Wuthering Heights. Has to be the perfect way to kick off a huge celebration!

All the way from California, for the second wedding of the weekend, huge thanks to Tim for hiring the 1997 Yamaha LA-8 for his friend's wedding. It all nearly fell through when Tim missed his step and landed on his hand just before arriving for handover of the guitar - a trip to A&E later and he was back up and ready to play to a packed room at the wedding reception. An absolute hero!

The first of three weddings on the same day, big thanks to Tom Smit for hiring the 2016 Millman Dreadnought for his sister's wedding in London. He loves his Yamaha acoustics, but the Yamaha LA-8 was out for another wedding, so Tom settled for playing his own songs on the Millman Dreadnought, and he loved it!

I'm going to have to put a health warning on the 2006 Gibson Hummingbird: "Beware: A serious risk of falling in love with this guitar". It happens every time. US singer/songwriter Anjela Rose is the latest to fall under its spell. The most adorable companion for her stay - and songwriting - in London.

Many thanks to Lorenzo, from Netherlands-based Barren Sea, for hiring the 92 Telecaster for the band's debut tour of the UK. 7 gigs in 7 days, from Sheffield to London, via Leeds, Bristol & Brighton. They've seen more of the UK than I do in a year! And so has this Tele now!

Usually Les paul is my main gear but this Tele has siginificant power to push the sound over and tight sound could support our band to play through the show. Next time. i'll hire this again. Just great to see Tokyo band Talk House making their return to the UK for a two-date tour in August. Mr Wolf's in Bristol, followed by a return to The Dublin Castle in Camden. The second time lead guitarist Keito has hired the Coxon Telecaster, and sounds like he'll do it again!

A couple of pure acoustic sets with just her beautiful vocals and the Little Martin. And just great to be doing something with the the wonderful Mute Records. Many happy memories of their early days and artists from the 80s and 90s!

My first K-Pop hire! And a beauty of a guitar to boot. Many thanks to Ryan for arranging the hire of the utterly gorgeous 1990 Gretsch White Falcon for a video shoot with K-Pop star Loren. I haven't seen any stills or the final video yet, but apparently the Falcon was central to the casting . . . Looking forward to the results!

The 1972 Fender Precision Bass and amp were in pristine condition, sounded incredible and genuinely elevated our rehearsal session. Excellent service all round – I’ll absolutely be hiring from Iain again."
A pleasure to help out local SE London musician Sam, aka Winterfalle, with a weekend's band rehearsal. He hired the 1972 Fender P-Bass and 2010 Peavey MAX115 for his bass guitarist - and, despite the latest heatwave, sounds like they had the best of times. Look out for them at The Sunken Ball in Jersey at the end of September!

Many thanks to singer/songwriter Tim Sullivan for taking the 2006 Martin D-18VS on stage for a very special performance at the end of June. Tim comes from a musical family. His sister K T Sullivan is a singer, pianist and actor in cabaret and musical theatre. She marked her return to Crazy Coqs by bringing her 96-year-old mother Elizabeth (also a singer, and still performing) to join her on stage. And Tim flew in from Spain to surprise their mother, and play a few songs during the set. A magical and heart-warming evening!
