A real pleasure to meet Valencia-based classic rockers Desert Vipers, and to kit them out with a couple of guitars for their tour of the UK in October 2026. Guitarist Quique usually plays a Les Paul for that classic sound, but opted for the 92 Telecaster, and made it sing like Jimmy Page - even playing it behind his head whilst being fed Jack Daniels. Bass guitarist Francesco plays a P-Bass at home, but still found newness to love in the attack of the maple/ash combination of the 82 Precision. And they even did a roaring cover of Communication Breakdown too. RnFnR!!!

"The guitar we rented this time was a 1997 Fender ’62 Reissue Jazzmaster.We were working on a project at Metropolis Studios that required access to a collection of over hundreds of vintage guitars, pedals, 60s amps, tape echoes etc etc for a famous Japanese band. As we needed to source the equipment through a rental company outside Metropolis Studios’ usual network of suppliers, we were delighted to rent the Jazzmaster from Gods Own Guitars. Communication with Iain was smooth and easy throughout, and everything from payment to logistics was handled brilliantly. We’d love to work with you again in the future. Thanks so much!"
Many thanks to Hitoshi at Metropolis Studios for hiring the 62 Reissue Jazzmaster for a four-day session recording new material with one of Japan's biggest pop rock bands. Can't say which band yet, but there will be a release. A huge roster of vintage gear brought in for the session - and this Jazzmaster. Even if playing a small cameo role, by all accounts it sounded amazing!

Great to meet James Yorke-Starkey, long-time member of Led Zeppelin tribute band Coda, putting in some time in the studio with parallel band Mother Smoke. True to the classic rock guitarist that he is, he hired the 1974 Martin D-28, a model favoured by rock god Jimmy Page, for some acoustic tracks in G, D and Cm open tunings. Looking forward to hearing the results!

"Rented this guitar for a pitch session I had in London. The guitar itself was set up perfectly with fresh strings and really good playability, but the best part of Iain's service was the inclusion of a portable stand, clip on tuner, strap and more -- all of which came in incredibly handy for the pitch. If I worked in fashion, I'm sure I'd know that it's the accessories that elevate the whole. And even though I don't, it's very reassuring to know they provided the icing on the cake for songwriter and composer Nathanial Mah, He hired the ever-dependable 1997 Yamaha LA-8 for pitch of his musical to BEAM - Mercury Musical Theatre in October 2026. He won't get to hear any results until January 2027, but at least the guitar - and the accessories - did their job with style and flair. Fingers crossed!

Big thanks to San Francisco singer/songwriter Greg Roensch who hired the 1993 Fender US Vintage 52 Telecaster for a week's session at Grand Cru Studio in St Katherine's Dock in London. The studio is on a barge in the dock, and was set up and owned by Pete Townshend of The Who. Greg brought over fellow players for the recording, including acclaimed blues guitarist Jules Leyhe, who played the Telecaster. Cannot wait to hear the results!

It's that 92 Telecaster in Lake Placid Blue working its magic again. So good that Michael re-hired it, only a day or so after returning it, when his stay in London was extended. A lovely guitar and a perfect companion!

Sophie at production and set design company Sets Appeal needed a guitar to match a particular guitarist's guitar for a video shoot. I can't say any more until the video comes out, but a band that revitalised US indie in the late-90s/00s, and still going today. Suffice to say, the 1984 Epiphone Sheraton wasn't a perfect match, but definitely perfect enough. . . more to follow when the video releases!

"I have always wanted to play a 12 String guitar. I saw the Gods Own Guitars website and I hired a Rickenbacker 330/12. I had never hired a guitar before, but Iain was very friendly, helpful and professional and explained the process. He kept in contact regularly to let me know what would happen and to confirm the date and time the guitar would be delivered and collected. It was always delivered and collected at the arranged time. The guitar was lovely and had a beautiful tone and sound, with the jangle which was great. I would recommend the experience for anyone and hope to hire a guitar again in the future. Thanks David."

Not just a gig, but the opening entertainment at a family wedding reception! For the third wedding on the same day, it was an honour to help out father and son duo Pat and David, over from the States to open up a gloriously celebratory wedding reception in North London. A pair of beautiful ES-335s - the 1977 Walnut TD for David and the 1988 Cherry Dot for Pat - and a pair of tube amps - the Champ 12 and Blues Junior. Many thanks to Pat for the kind words!

A pair of beautiful ES-335s - the 1977 Walnut TD for David and the 1988 Cherry Dot for Pat - and a pair of tube amps - the Champ 12 and Blues Junior. Between them Pat and David covered a wide range of crowd-pleasers, all instrumentals, including a bold and magnificent version of Wuthering Heights. Has to be the perfect way to kick off a huge celebration!
