Hirer Feedback

Don't take my word for it.  This is what matters most!

"Beautiful guitars, perfect condition and great sound. Iain was very helpful all throughout the rental. 100% recommended!"

Barcelona shoegazers Salvana landed a showcase gig at this year's International Festival Forum in London, headlining Omeara on 10 September. Step forward a trio of Fenders, perfect for every shoegaze band: a 1976 Fender Jazz bass, and a couple of 62 Reissue offsets, a Jazzmaster and a Jaguar. All they needed to do was bring their pedalboards and oceans of reverb :-).

"The guitar (D-28) was absolutely wonderful - it's made me realise I need my own! The service from Iain was great. He was super happy to accommodate when travel plans changed, and drop-off/pickup was seamless. Thanks again!"

Many thanks to Tom - all the way from New Zealand, for a performance that really could not go wrong ... playing at a wedding for friends. With his wife on vocals, both going through the AER Compact 60 amp, Tom, his wife, and most importantly the bride and groom were delighted. A proper moment to remember!

"I hired a guitar because I had travelled and hadn't felt confident bringing one on multiple flights. The Little Martin was great! A dream to play, and extremely compact and lightweight. I had it for a week - I wrote two songs on it and played it in a short film - and I missed it as soon as I returned it! It was easy to transport around London in the soft case, and the accessory kit had everything I needed and more. Iain was super helpful throughout the whole process. Definitely recommend!"

Great to meet and help Australian actor, singer and musician Cassady, when over in London in August. She says it all with her feedback :-). And the Little Martin does the rest!

"The guitar was in great condition, and played very well! Iain was very responsive and worked to accommodate my travel schedule. Will be renting again!"

Change is good. US guitarist Chris Vincent is more used to a 7-string long-scale guitar in his metal band back home. But he decided to turn that all around by trying out a short-scale icon, a 1996 Fender Jag-Stang, while visiting the UK in August. Within minutes, he was loving it!

"Spent a week with this excellent guitar during my UK vacation. Played great and handoffs were a breeze - thanks so much!"

Max didn't just spend a week with the utterly unique 2005 Eastwood Airline, he also played it at the monthly jam session at the Handel Hendrix House. Check out the clip in the link. As a young player, what a thing to do - and hoping this is just the start of his journey!

"Guitar is just as described and I loved it. Iain is lovely to chat with and a wealth of knowledge."

Great to meet and talk guitars with Jeff. He already has a Gibson J-35, but wanted to try out one of its bigger brothers, so hired the 1993 Gibson J-200 for a weekend. Try as I might, he wouldn't be drawn on a clear winner . . . suffice it to say he loved it so much, he's now looking to buy himself one ;-).

"Rented this bass from Iain for my dad’s 60th birthday and not only did it play like a dream, Iain was really friendly and easy to work with. Would highly recommend any bassist who wants to look as cool as they sound!"

Now that's a birthday present! Hats off to Rufus for giving his Dad a 60th to remember - a 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 to play at his party. I've seen the pics, and it looks like he's absolutely loving it! A proper classic with wonderfully distinctive tone (and I'm sure that's as true of Rufus' father on his 60th as it is of this bass!).

"Pleasure and a joy to do business with. Item was as described. Highly recommended."

A return hire for Richardson, aka Jeffery Churchill, for a full-band gig in Battersea. Just a couple of amps to round out the mix - a Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 for Richardson and a Peavey MAX 115 for his bass guitarist. Hit the spot.

"Our little project needed a rare instrument to record a guitar solo — and we found it with Iain. This resonator guitar is exquisite: absolutely alive, perfectly cared for, and with an incredible sound. We were so happy to record it for our film’s soundtrack. And working with Iain was an absolute pleasure. All the paperwork and arrangements were handled flawlessly, and every question I had was met with clear, reassuring answers. I was quite nervous about renting such a unique instrument, but everything went perfectly. Iain even included a special cloth so we could polish the guitar to a shine before filming. I will always recommend Gods Own Guitars! Thank you, Iain!"

Not just a little project! A wonderfully creative bit of puppetry and stop-motion film from the very lovely Anastasia Tomskaya. And one needing a very appropriate guitar for the soundtrack and publicity shots. The oldest guitar in the collection, the 1934 National Style O Resonator, still turning heads more than 90 years on!

"Just returned this beauty to Iain after hiring for a wedding. What a lovely guitar to get to know for a few days. Gorgeous pickups with amazing tone given the right gain staging, excellent intonation for this type of guitar and a Bigsby tremolo to boot! So happy we were able to find God’s Own Guitars last minute for our hiring needs. Iain is as thorough and professional as they come. Six stars! Would absolutely recommend."

A lot riding on this one! A wedding, a live performance, a vintage semi-acoustic guitar with a bolt-on neck, floating bridge, and a Bigsby! But it all came together beautifully. Huge thanks to US guitarist James Mulhern for the hire. Just great to have the 1964 Harmony Rocket H59 sharing such a special moment in his hands!

"What an amazing experience. I hired it for my husband for a 60th birthday treat as he’s always wanted to play one! It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful guitar. Amazing sound. Dealing with Iain was a total joy. He is so friendly, so communicative and so passionate about guitars! A really great experience all round. Thanks Iain - you’re a star!⭐️"

And, what an amazing gift! Nicole gave her husband the surprise of his life on his 60th birthday, hiring his dream guitar, a Les Paul Classic Goldtop for him to play as part of the celebrations. The best of times for a great milestone!

"Nice contact! Really enjoyed playing with this gorgeous guitar!"

Many thanks to Johanna from Berlin-based (and wonderfully-named) Easily Distracted By Ducks, making their UK debut (and headline!) appearance at Putney's legendary Half Moon New Music night in August. Bass guitarist Johanna hired the ever-popular Arctic White Stratocaster for guitarist Edgar - and he loved it!

"We were not expecting this level of care and attention to detail. He was very thorough and took interest in the music and what we were recording which showed us that he actually cares about the process. He even had the guitars set up for a different tuning which we had requested. We highly recommend Iain's services for anyone that is looking for a wholesome guitar rental experience."

This was a fun hire. Gueorgui (aka Kan Wakan) needed two guitars for a recording session at Fish Factory in London. Not just that, he wanted them in a downtuned C# open tuning, as near as dammit to the "Hendrix chord". Step forward to classics: the 1988 Martin D-35P and 1989 Les Paul Custom, both set up for the lower tuning - sounded amazing. Looking forward to hearing the release!

"Borrowed for personal practice and songwriting purposes. The guitar was in perfect condition; communication very swift and easy; I am frankly amazed that such a passionate, pure service exists. Thank you Iain!"

It's that Little Martin working its magic again. Ayami had owned a Little Martin in the past, so made the most of her time in London with a welcome reacquaintance. A lovely travel guitar.

"Iain was brilliant to deal with and the hire was perfect - icing on the cake for our event."

A summer garden party, not one, but two visiting guitarists, and the living can only be easy. Many thanks to Dean for hiring the 1997 Yamaha LA-8 for the party. Love the joy in the pictures from the day!
