Hirer Feedback

Don't take my word for it.  This is what matters most!

"A great amp in good nick. I used the normal and brilliant channels for recording purposes to good effect. Like the modern AC30s too but prefer this one overall! I added an extra day to get more recording done with it. Very pleased with the sound."

Thanks to Zani for bringing the full potential of this vintage Vox AC-30 Top Boost to his recording sessions. It had just come from a full service with Sweet Amps (check them out!) and sounded better than ever. A true British classic!

"Thanks Iain. Great amp in perfect order. I *think* it was LOUD ENOUGH!"

When 11 isn't loud enough, where do you go? The Fender Hot Rod DeVille solves that problem. These go to 12 ;-). A pleasure to help out old friend Toby with the first of his band's warm-up gigs ahead of an appearance at London's legendary 100 Club in October. Now that will be loud!

"I was so happy to find someone who has an LX1, a guitar and a model that I wanted to play since I became a fan of Ed Sheeran. It was a really great time and I was not expecting so much sound from such a small guitar. Definitely a great choice to return to music. It was worth the hire and would highly recommend and choose it again."

It really doesn't have to be Ed Sheeran, but if you love his work, you really can't go wrong with the Little Martin. Big thanks to Alexandre for the extended hire as he returns to playing and writing his own material!

"Really lovely guitar, and easy to play for beginners, thank you :-) "

Over in London from Finland, Denisa needed an acoustic to keep up her practice schedule. The 1997 Yamaha LA-8 hit the mark perfectly - easy narrow neck, nice low set-up, and a tone that punches well above its weight. Thank you Denisa!

"Lovely instrument! Had a wicked time fiddling around with it. Strongly recommended if you’re looking for something a little different."

It gets hired surprisingly rarely, but whenever it does, it never fails. Thanks to return hirer Ollie from electronica duo Colour Telly, for giving the Eastman Airline a run for the band's latest work. It can do a lot more than Seven Nation Army covers ;-).

"Iain was a pleasure to deal with and very happy with the service. The guitar was, as expected, fantastic! "

Thanks to Song Athletics owner Will Evans for hiring a couple of absolute classics for the sound library - and to international session/live guitarist Ross Chapman for playing them in the studio. The oldest guitar in the collection, the 1934 National Style O Resonator, and the king of flattops, the 1993 Gibson J-200. Which would you choose?

"Super friendly, easy travel and excellent gear!"

Thanks to Marly from 05ive06ix for bringing the diminutive but mighty Marshall G-30 to share the stage at the band's headline slot at London's Mild May Club on 1 July. Don't be deceived by its 30W output. This amp can blow you away!

"Iain was very pro and super efficient. He was available with my complicated schedules. The Fender Graham Coxon was perfectly adjusted and impeccable. Thank you Iain for the efficiency and kindness. I recommend at 1,000%."

French guitarist Laurent (aka Agence Mess) was over in London to play at a private event in June. We talked about Les Pauls and Stratocasters, but when he saw the Graham Coxon Telecaster, that was it - everyone that plays it loves it. Rosewood board, humbucker & single-coil combination, plays like a dream. Fender really should have made more of these!

"Thanks Iain. It’s an amazing service you provide. I really appreciated how accommodating you were, especially with the drop off times having to be changed around. Great to try a guitar style quite new to me, it was set up brilliantly and helped get me through our time here in London."

All the way from Australia, on a two-week stopover in London, Matt wanted to take in the sights. But he also wanted to try something different to his usual choice of acoustic guitar. That 92 Telecaster did the business - never fails to deliver!

"Was so nice and helpful when I needed a last minute rental! Really appreciate it, thank you :)"

Thanks to rising star Laura Dia, who needed an amp at short notice for an intimate set at Jumbli in Peckham. The Fender Hot Rod Deville came to the rescue!

"Wonderful experience all round. Iain was very quick and responsive, and was able to give me good advice on which guitar would best suit my needs. The guitar has such an awesome sound and was such a joy to play. Everything about the exchange was professional, efficient and understanding. Thanks again Iain!"

Thanks to Natalia for giving the Gibson Hummingbird a part to play in a family celebration. Beautiful tone and low action, just what was needed for a very special night.

"Used this guitar for some recording, sounded brilliant and was exactly what I was after. Iain was very friendly and helpful and provides a great service."

Thanks to Anton from Squid for taking the 1979 Black Strat into the studio - something new to top the release of O Monolith in June. One of those famously heavier Strats just right for the tone he was after. Looking forward to hearing the results!

"Absolutely amazing! The guitar played beautifully and the process was extremely convenient."

US singer/songwriter Tess needed a guitar to practise on while staying in London for 4 weeks - ahead of gigs planned in the US for her return. The Arctic White Strat did everything she needed it to - and she should know, she has her own one back in the States!

"Great instrument and all round service. STRONG recommendation!!!"

Thanks to return hirer Ollie. He's now hired four different basses for his home studio sessions, and loved them all, but it's the 1972 Precision Bass that's come out on top! If it's classic late 60s/early-70s tones you're after, this is the one!

"Always a pleasure dealing with Iain, a very professional and nice guy with gear in mint condition."

Thanks to Tuomas and Joni from Finnish band Airi's, returning to London for an acoustic set at The Plough in Holborn. Two legendary dreadnoughts joining the performance - 1974 Martin D-28 and 1993 Gibson J-200. More complimentary than their age-old rivalry might suggest!
